Alexander Gillon

Alexander Gillon (1741-6. října 1794) byl členem Sněmovna reprezentantů USA (DR-SC 5) od 4. března 1793 do 6. října 1794, následně Thomas Tudor Tucker a předcházející Robert Goodloe Harper.

Biography

Alexander Gillon se narodil v Rotterdamu, United Provinces v roce 1741 až Scottish rodiče, a než se stal námořním kapitánem, byl vzděláván v London. He sailed to Charleston, South Carolina in 1766, where he married a Kentish widow and made a new life for himself. He served in the Provincial Congress from 1775 to 1776 and served as a Commodore of the South Carolina Navy during the American Revolutionary War. After the war, he served in US House of Representatives from 1793 to his death in 1794.
