71st United States Colored Infantry Regiment

The 71st United States Colored Infantry Regiment was a Black infantry regiment of the Union Army that was active from 3 March to 8 November 1864 during the American Civil War. Organized at Natchez, Mississippi and Alexandria, Louisiana, the 71. USCT garrisoned Vicksburg and Natchez during the war.
