Princ Felix Constantin Alexander Johann Nepomuk ze Salm-Salm
Princ Felix Constantin Alexander Johann Nepomuk ze Salm-Salm (25. prosince 1828-18. srpna 1870) byl Prusko vojenský důstojník, šlechtic a žoldnéř, který sloužil v armádách Prusko, the Rakouské císařství, the Spojené státy, and Mexiko během První Šlesvická válka, the Druhá italská válka za nezávislost, the Americká občanská válka, the Franco-Mexican War, and the Franco-Prussian War. Biography
Felix Salm-Salm se narodil v Anholtu, Westphalia, Prussia dne 25. prosince 1828, and he entered the Prussian Army in the 6 as a hussar. Prokázal statečnost v boji během First Schleswig War, ale později opustil pruskou armádu a vstoupil do Austrian army, serving in the Second Italian War of Independence. V roce 1861 přišel do United States a byl povýšen na plukovníka brigádního generála Louis Blenker's staff during the American Civil War. Salm-Salm velel 8th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment and then the 68th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment, serving in Tennessee and Georgia and fighting at the Battle of Nashville. V dubnu 1865 byl povýšen na brigádního generála, ale po občanské válce opustil USA a zamířil k Mexico. Stal se císařem Maximilian I of Mexico's aide-de-camp, a byl zajat u Queretara poté, co statečně vedl hussar charge ve snaze zachránit císaře před Benito Juarez's republican army.
