El

El was the Canaanite father of the gods and of creation. Baal fathered the gods Baal, Yamm, and Mot with Asherah, and his Semitic name, meaning "god", shares cognates in Hebrew ("Elohim") and Arabic ("Allah"). While preaching about the new concept of monotheistic God, Abraham chose the name El to refer to this unique Božstvo.
