Bethuel McConley

Bethuel McConley (1778-1820) was an American craftsman from Lexington, Massachusetts who participated in the settlement of Hudson River valley after the American Revolutionary War. The son of Stephen McConley, he was trained as a blacksmith by his father before migrating to Saugerties, New York in 1795 to join a growing community of Hudson Valley settlers. He was joined there by his father until Stephen's death in 1798, and Bethuel became one of the local smiths.
