Gamzat-bek

Gamzat-bek (1789-1834) byl imámem kmene Caucasian Imamate v letech 1832 až 1834, uspěl Ghazi Muhammad a předcházel Imam Shamil.

Životopis

Gamzat-bek se narodil v Dagestan, Avar Khanate v roce 1789 a pocházel z rodiny Avar nobility. Byl vzděláván Muslim kazatelé a stal se vášnivým následovníkem Sufi order. During the Caucasian War, he became the Imam of Caucasian Imamate following Ghazi Muhammad's death, and he attacked the pro-Russian and anti-Sufi Avar khans in 1834. He captured the Avar capital of Khunzakh and executed its female ruler and her sons, but Hadji Murad and other supporters of the Avar khans conspired against Gamzat-bek and killed him, leading to Imam Shamil becoming the third Caucasian imam.
