Gawen Wiley

Gawen Wiley (1851-1899) was an American stable hand who worked for the Braithwaite family at Braithwaite Manor in Beauregard Parish, Louisiana during the late 19th century. In 1899, he let Arthur Morgan, Javier Escuella, and John Marston into the stable when they feigned interest in buy one of his horses, but he rudely insulted Escuella as a "greaser" before showing them the horses. Když Wiley vyprávěl psancům o koních, Morgan zezadu zlomil Wileymu vaz, nenápadně je zabil a umožnil Morganovi a jeho přátelům ukrást Braithwaiteovy výherní hřebce.
