Bardney

Bardney je vesnice v Lincolnshire, England. It was once settled by the Romans, and the Anglo-Saxons called it Beardney, meaning "Bearda's island". Saxons founded a Roman Catholic abbey in Bardney in 679 AD, and it was destroyed by raiding Danes in 860 AD, only to be rebuilt as a priory. Bardney nejprve klesal kvůli Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1538, but agricultural improvement made Bardney prosperoval během 19. století. In 2011, Bardney had a population of 1,643 people.
