Clovis Kaplan

Clovis Kaplan (1704-1735) was a French slave overseer from Saint-Domingue.

Biography

Clovis Kaplan was a slaveowner from Port-au-Prince in Saint-Domingue, and in 1735 he decided to punish two of his slaves by whipping them. However, Adewale found him and killed him and his men, freeing his two slaves and bringing the amount of freed slaves to 155.
