Desecrated Sanctuary

The Desecrated Sanctuary was a temple located on the Greek island of Lemnos, overlooking the town Myrina. The temple was requisitioned by Athenian soldiers during the Peloponnesian War, and in 424 BC, the Spartan mercenary Kassandra assassinated the pro-Athenian ruler Iobates the Stoic at the temple.
