Hunfrith Penward
Hunfrith Penward (1157-1200) was an English peasant from Portsmouth who in 1200, led a failed uprising against Saer de Quincy, 1st Earl of Winchester, taking over from Alfwold Steddon after his death.

Hunfrith Penward se narodil v Portsmouth, Hampshire, England in 1157 to a family of English Catholic peasants. In 1200, he joined Alfwold Steddon's peasant revolt against Saer de Quincy, 1st Earl of Winchester and became one of his chief lieutenants. After Richard Becq slew Steddon and was knocked into bezvědomí and captured by the rebels, Penward held Becq as a prisoner until he escaped. Becq then return with a larger force and killed Penward and the remaining rebels, ending the uprising.
