Baronka Adéla z Beaumontu

Baronka Adéla z Beaumontu (narozena 1067) byla manželkou Count Etienne of Blois a matkou Stephen of Blois, king of England v letech 1135 až 1154.

Biography

Adéla byla dcerou William the Conqueror and Matilda Flanderská, a Adéla a její bratr Henry I of England byli nejmladší z Vilémových dětí. She was highly-educated and spoke Latin, and she married Count Etienne of Blois as a political alliance to the House of Blois in Normandy. Etienne was a participant in the 1096-1099 First Crusade, and when he return home in 1098 during the Siege of Antioch, she convinced her husband to go on a second voyage to the Holy Lands to resume the crusades.
