Cynestan Knight

Cynestan Knight (1033-1066) was an Anglo-Saxon farmer from Wiltshire who served in King Aelfwig of England's fyrd during the Norman ¬ conquest of England. He and 1 400 other Anglo-Saxons were mobilized at Chippenham and recaptured Ethandun from the Normans before being slain battle with William the Conqueror's army at the Battle of Trowbridge.
