Galerius Sennius Macrobius

Galerius Sennius Macrobius was a Black American Loyalist who served in Colonel Tye's Black Brigade during the American Revolutionary War. Born into slavery in New Jersey and given a Roman name by his enslaver, he escaped to freedom behind British lines, was recruited into the British Army, and fought at the 1780 Battle of Red Hill.
