Benjamin Corkley
Benjamin Corkley was an American Patriot leader who served as a delegate to the New Jersey Provincial Congress during the 1770s. As a man of property who was reluctantto violently part from Great Britain, he opposed the US Declaration of Independence in 1776. After the American Revolution, he became a Federalist, championing North Jersey and East Jersey's commercial interests.
