Capture of Lanark Outpost

The Capture of Lanark Outpost (May 1297) was an action of William Wallace's uprising against the English occupation of Scotland. Following the Action at Lanark, the English noble Lord Bottoms sent 50 men to Lanark to capture Wallace and his rebels, but Wallace's rebel force - augmented by reinforcements from the MacGregor clan - ambushed and killed the 50 English soldiers on their patrol. They then dressed themselves in the English uniforms and back to the Lanark Outpost, where they took Lord Bottoms by surprise.
