Beifaren

The Beifaren are a cultural group in north China, consisting of the northern populations of the Han Chinese people. A distinction between the northern Beifaren and southern Nanfaren developed during the rule of the Qing dynasty, with the north Chinese being more receptive to Manchu rule ¬ than the southern Nanfaren. Z tohoto důvodu byli Nanfaren pronásledováni Mandžuy, zatímco Beifaren byly uznávanou kulturou. Tato linie rozlišování by zmizela brzy po Xinhai Revolution z roku 1911, ale seveřané a jižané mají dodnes odlišné tradice a způsoby života.
