Choctaw

The Choctaw are a Native American people native to Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, and Louisiana in the American South. Most Choctaw supported the United States during the American Revolutionary War, and the Choctaw never went to war with the USA; they were some of the first tribes to be moved west of the Mississippi River under the Indian Removal Act, and they were given some of the most favorable lands in the Indian Territory, zatímco ti v Mississippi dostali americké občanství v roce 1831. Choctawové podporovali Confederate States of America během Americká občanská válka, a byli jedněmi z US Army's first codetalkers during World War I. V roce 2005 bylo v USA 160 000 Choctawů.
