Alexander Campbell

Alexander Campbell (1779-5. listopadu 1857) byl US Senator from Ohio from 11 December 1809 to 4 March 1813, succeeding Stanley Griswold and preceding Jeremiah Morrow. He was a Democratic-Republican.

Biography

Alexander Campbell se narodil ve Frederick County, Virginia in 1779, and he moved to eastern Tennessee and then to Kentucky with his parents. V roce 1804 se usadil v Adams County, Ohio, a v letech 1807 až 1812 působil ve Sněmovně reprezentantů Ohia. Odstoupil, aby se stal US Senator, a byl raným anti-slavery bojovníkem. V letech 1819 a 1832 až 1833 opět zasedal ve Sněmovně reprezentantů a v letech 1822 až 1824 v Senátu. Zemřel v roce 1857.
