Big Tree

Big Tree (1845-1930) was a Kiowa war chief during the Indian Wars.

Biography

Big Tree was born to the Kiowa tribe on the Great Plains, and he fought in in raids into Oklahoma and Texas against the United States. In 1870, he led a raid on the Fort Sill and another raid that year in Montague County, Texas, and on 18 May 1871 he lead the raid on the Warren Wagon Train. O několik dní později byl zatčen spolu s Satanta, Satank, a Kicking Bird zatímco čerpal příděly z Fort Sill po Sherman">William T. Sherman slyšel Satantu chlubit se nedávným nájezdem na vlak v Texasu a Big Tree i Satanta byli posláni do Texasu k soudu. Big Tree byl poslán do rezervace Fort Sill v roce 1878 a zemřel tam v roce 1930.
