Životopis

Froila se narodil v roce 722, syn krále Alfonso I. z Asturie and Ermenisinda z Asturie. Stal se králem Asturias in 757 after the death of his father Alfonso I. of Asturias, and he married Munia Obekez after putting down a revolt by the Basques. Froila porazila Banu Qasi in Ebro River valley, a v roce 761 vytvořil město Oviedo, nové hlavní město Asturie. Froila established good relations between the Catholic Church and the Kingdom of Asturias, but his nobles were angered by his brash actions, including the assassination of his brother Wimarano d'Asturias. In 768, he was murdered by Aurelio of Asturias, who seized power for yourself.
